Calvin Coolidge

Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States, served from 1923 to 1929. Born on July 4, 1872, in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, Coolidge was known for his reserved demeanor and commitment to limited government intervention in the economy. He rose to national prominence as the Governor of Massachusetts before becoming Vice President under Warren G. Harding. Coolidge assumed the presidency in 1923 after Harding's death.

Often referred to as "Silent Cal" due to his reputation for being a man of few words, Coolidge was a proponent of conservative fiscal policies and a reduction in government spending. His presidency coincided with a period of economic prosperity known as the "Roaring Twenties." Coolidge supported business interests and tax cuts, contributing to the era's economic boom. Despite his reserved public persona, Coolidge was politically astute and won the presidency in his own right in 1924.

Coolidge chose not to seek re-election in 1928 and retired from politics. His presidency is remembered for its emphasis on economic stability and limited government, as well as the overall prosperity of the 1920s.
