It also includes Latin text, "Esto perpetua," meaning "Let it be perpetual," and references the state's chief industries, such as mining and agriculture. The flag, adopted in 1927, showcases the state seal on a blue field, with the words "State of Idaho" in gold letters below the seal. Despite criticism in a flag survey, Idaho's flag remains a meaningful representation of its heritage and resources.
