Oklahoma State Flag

The flag of Oklahoma is a distinctive emblem characterized by a Choctaw sky-blue field with a traditional Osage buffalo-skin shield at its center. Above the word "Oklahoma" in white, seven eagle feathers symbolize peace and unity between Native American and European American communities. Six golden brown crosses, resembling stars, adorn the shield, while the blue field signifies devotion and loyalty, inspired by the Choctaw flag of 1860. The shield, accompanied by a Plains-style ceremonial pipe representing Native Americans and an olive branch for peace, reflects a commitment to defensive warfare and love for peace. Notably, Oklahoma's flag is one of only two U.S. state flags, alongside New Mexico, to incorporate distinctive Native American iconography.
