Nevada State Seal

The Great Seal of the State of Nevada, derived from the Seal of the Territory of Nevada, was formalized as Nevada prepared for statehood in 1864. Upon Nevada's admission as a state in 1864, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed it. The seal features a silver miner and his team transporting ore, symbolizing Nevada's mineral resources, with a quartz mill nearby. A train, telegraph poles, and an agricultural scene represent transportation, communication, and agriculture. The natural environment is depicted with a rising sun over snow-capped peaks. The inner circle bears the motto "All for Our Country," and 36 stars signify Nevada's entry as the 36th state. It is inscribed with "The Great Seal of the State of Nevada." Notably, a prank by Mark Twain initially caused the smoke trails to blow in opposite directions, later corrected upon realizing the mistake.
