Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr. served as the 38th President of the United States, holding office from 1974 to 1977. Born on July 14, 1913, in Omaha, Nebraska, Ford became President following the resignation of Richard Nixon in the wake of the Watergate scandal. Ford had a distinguished political career before assuming the presidency, having served as the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives. Ford's presidency was marked by efforts to heal the nation after the tumultuous Watergate period. His decision to pardon Richard Nixon was a controversial but principled move aimed at fostering national unity. Despite facing economic challenges, including inflation and energy crises, Ford advocated for fiscal responsibility and sought bipartisan solutions.
